CAROSELLO PUGLIESE: COME COLTIVARLO IN VASO E PROTEGGERLO DAL FRESCO PRIMAVERILE

Coltivare i caroselli in verticale sul balcone è solo apparentemente complicato, però è necessario pensare ad un sistema particolare di sostegni dove far arrampicare le piante.

Un'unica canna, per quanto robusta, non basta. In caso di forte vento si romperebbe sicuramente e con essa anche la pianta (è successo a me cinque anni fa). Quindi è fondamentale utilizzare delle canne laterali (foto 1), più sottili e flessibili della canna principale perché devono tendersi ed essere legate a questa fino a formare una struttura simile ad un tepee, l'abitazione tipica dei nativi americani (foto 2 e 5).

Questa struttura ha un altro vantaggio: quando il clima primaverile è ancora troppo fresco, è possibile infilare dall'alto di questa struttura un sacchetto di plastica bucato abbastanza grande. Si forma così una serra su misura per ogni carosello (foto 5).

HOW TO GROW CAROSELLOS IN POTS AND PROTECT THEM FROM SPRINGLIKE COOL

Growing carosellos in vertical on balconies is only seemingly a complicated affair. However it's necessary to call for some specific support system where to make the vines train.

However strong it may be, a single cane isn't enough. In case of strong wind, it would break easily together with the vine (it occurred to me five years ago). So it's crucial to use some side canes (pic 1), thinner and more flexible than the main cane because they must be tightened and tied to it. Doing so, you'll have a structure similar to a tepee, the typical house of the American natives (pics 2 and 5).

This kind of structure has a further advantage: if the springlike weather is still too cool, you can let slip from the top of this structure a large plastic cover. This way you get a custom-made greenhouse for every carosello (pic 5).
