POMODORI DA BALCONE - 1

I pomodori che sto coltivando sui balconi sono già a buon punto. L'Hahms Gelbe Topftomate è una varietà gialla nana. A crescita completata, non è più alta di una ventina di centimetri. Però, è molto produttiva e i suoi frutti non vanno raccolti quando diventano giallo oro, quasi arancio. Non è una grande idea raccoglierli quando sono di un giallo brillante perché sarebbero immaturi e perciò molto aspri. 

Coltivo questa varietà dal 2012:

(1) Hahms Gelbe Topftomate

Un'altra varietà nana, la Red Robin, è appena più alta dell'Hahms Gelbe Topftomate:

(2) Red Robin

Anche il Tumbling Tom Red e il Tumbling Tom Yellow sono varietà nane, ma hanno un portamento ricadente che sarà più evidente quando le piante avranno completato la loro crescita:

BALCONY TOMATOES - 1

The tomatoes I'm growing on my balconies is well underway. Hahms Gelbe Topftomate (1) is a yellow dwarf variety. When its growth is complete, it's just about twenty centimetres tall. Anyway, it's very productive and its fruits are to be picked when they turn golden yellow, almost orange. It isn't a great idea to harvest them when they are bright yellow because they would be unripe and for this very sour. 

I have been cultivating this variety since 2012.

Another dwarf variety is Red Robin (2) that is just a little bit taller than Hahms Gelbe Topftomate.

Tumbling Tom Red and Tumbling Tom Yellow (3 and 4) are dwarf varieties as well, but they have a drooping habit that will be evident when the plants have completed their growth.
