Grazie ad uno scambio di semi, carosello e melanzana rossa vs. pomodoro, sono venuto in possesso di due varietà rare di pomodori a crescita determinata: il Datterino Siccagno e il Roma Nano di Artena.

THE FIRST TOMATOES PLANTS
Thanks to an exchange of seeds, carosello and red aubergine vs. tomato, I came into possession of two uncommon varieties of determinate growth tomatoes: the Datterino Siccagno and the Dwarf Roma Artena.
For the former I must thank Salvatore, a Sicilian friend from Monreale; for the latter Fabio from Colleferro, near Rome. In one of my next posts I'll tell how Fabio selected this strain. As in all beautiful things, it came about by sheer chance...

Those plants look good. It's always nice to get hold of something a bit out of the ordinary - plants that you cannot normally buy.

EliminaI don't know how these two strains will grow in a 26cm diameter pot. Should it prove to be too small, I'll transplant both in bigger pots. Next year I'll cultivate them in my new garden as well.
